{Cindy and Matt} Miami Engagement Session | Casual Beach

Categories: Engagement + Anniversary Tags: + + + + + + + + + + +

When we first mention the beach as a location option to our wedding clients, they all shutter at the thought. Images of couples drawing hearts in the sands, and jeans rolled up with white matching shirts come to their minds. I have to try so hard to educate them that it’s not the location of the beach that’s tacky, but the couple and the photographer. I assure them that they are a cool couple and not tacky. Lucky for them, they hired cool photographers LOL. Cindy and Matt were open to the idea once I sent them some pinterest images of beach shoots done right. Their engagement shoot on the beach was simple, cute, and overall very cool.

{Jeanette and Sean} Miami Wedding Photography | Spanish Monastery

Categories: Weddings Tags: + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
02.19.2015

Jeanette and Sean’s wedding was not your average vintage wedding. Their wedding had a beautiful dark romance undertone.  The inspiration was the hit television series Downton Abbey.  There were an abundant amount of details, and they were all unique.  The style of the wedding perfectly complimented the venue.  The Spanish Monastery is a venue that offers a romantic, yet dramatic feel which transported us right back in to this old century styled wedding.  Jeanette and Sean are deeply in love with each other, and it was a little too easy to get candid romantic moments between the two of them.  Another detail that made this wedding so beautiful was the children. There is something about kids at weddings that we totally love.  These kids were styled with floral crowns and suspenders… the perfect touch for their theme.  The synergy between the two families was so sweet. It’s so rare to see two families who mesh so perfectly together.  We love this couple, and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their wedding.

{Daniella} South Florida Bat Mitzvah | Graceful Ballerina

02.11.2015

Daniella is turning twelve which in jewish tradition means a girl becomes a bat mitzvah. Luckily this also means an opportunity for a photo shoot. Daniella’s mom wanted photographs of her doing what she loves most, ballet. This young lady is as sweet as they come, and also extremely talented. She as sweet on the inside as she is on the outside and her talent compliments this. Her love and talent in Ballet has instilled an elegant and graceful manner in her. Her arms, hands, eyes they all seem to flow together when I was photographing her. Her movements were soft but dramatic. What was suppose to be a one hour photo shoot turned into a three hour shoot, I enjoyed photographing her so much it was hard to stop. After I put my camera down and she removed her point shoes we both, along with her mother, planned the next shoot. I hope you fall in love with these pictures as much as I did.

{Leirys} Miami Teen Photography | Day to Night

02.03.2015

Leirys wanted to completely change her looks to show off her different styles throughout the day. We began with a soft/romantic feel at one of our favorite beach locations. We added our favorite swing, which allowed Leirys to show off her sweet side. The beach looks were natural, I loved the soft waves on her long hair. Leirys was most excited about the beach pictures and after seeing her photographs she said her favorite look was the red dress on the beach. Us on the other hand can’t decide on a favorite look. The last look showed off this teen’s edgy side. Leirys is gorgeous but she is also very photogenic, we fell in love with her shoot from beginning to end. Take a look at the shoot and notice the dramatic differences in all the looks. We totally showed off all of Leirys’s beauty and personality.

{Brooke and Eugene} Miami Wedding Photography | Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Categories: Weddings Tags: + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
01.23.2015

Where to begin… I hope the photographs do most of the talking, but I will fill in you in on some behind the scenes information. Brooke and Eugene started their day getting ready at the Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove. The location was close to the reception that took place at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. It also made for a beautiful backdrop for all the getting ready images. As we walked into Brooke’s room, we were happy to see a lot of family and friends in her suite. There was champagne flowing, music filling the air, and lots of laughter. Brooke was calm and collected, which was expected (she is the most relaxed and chill bride ever). One of my favorite moments was when Brooke took the time to put makeup on the flower girl… too cute! In the groom’s room, we walked in on Eugene getting a fresh shave by his personal barber. The mood was relaxed and fun. I would say Eugene would agree that a highlight that happened in his getting ready was his present from Brooke. Let’s just say Eugene was blushing, while flipping through Brooke’s boudoir photo album. It was a classic reaction that was funny to witness. Luckily the wedding coordinator, Jennifer Johnson, allotted a large amount of time for us to take photographs of this gorgeous couple. We were lucky enough to have a 15 minute photo shoot at Vizcaya with the bride. The couple agreed to seeing each other before the ceremony, a tradition very common in Jewish religion. We call this a “First Look,” and we had the best backdrop to capture the moment. A full hour was put aside for this and for portraits, needless to say we were like kids in a candy store. Brooke and Eugene are gorgeous, and they are amazing in front of the camera. It was so fun watching and photographing the moments that were exchanged between these two love birds. Eugene has a way of making Brooke feel like a princess. He was so sweet and genuine with her. It was an amazing thing to watch. We had so many amazing portraits, and it was so difficult to narrow down the number for the blog. This is a problem that makes us so happy. The romantic feel transitioned into the ceremony, where the decor lighting was warm and inviting. The pink cherry blossom huppa made the ceremony look like something out of a fairy tale. The decor at the reception was no different. Lighting is so important at an event. It can transform a space, giving it depth and feeling; this wedding was a perfect example of amazing lighting. The dinner area was displayed between a beautiful ocean front and Vizcaya’s main house. The main house was lit with colorful lighting patterns and the stage for the band was built on top of the water… it was just gorgeous! Dinner started with a “smoking” salad that was housed inside a glass encasing. The waiters brought each guest an individual salad and opened the glass encasing to allow the smoke to float out and into the air. Definitely a presentation to remember, and something that is best described in photographs, LOL (scroll down). So many surprises happened throughout the night. The first dance ended with an 8 minute firework presentation… Can you imagine fireworks as you’re sharing your first dance with your Mr. or Mrs.?! There were also two surprise guests that were completely unexpected and may need some explaining. During the cocktail hour, Eugene played a little joke on Brooke (something that Brooke says happens quite often). This time, the joke was in front of 170 family and friends. So, for weeks Eugene has been telling Brooke that he wanted to adopt a Lemur while in Africa, on their honeymoon. He was quite convincing, according to Brooke. He even bought books and printed out research material on owning a Lemur and how to bring it into the country. Fast forward to the wedding day, Eugene wanted to end the joke with a bang and had a Lemur visit the wedding. All of the guests loved petting the Lemur and took photographs with the adorable little creature. The second guest was even more shocking, if you can believe that. No story needed, President Obama was the second guest! Ok fine… not the real Obama, but Reggie Brown an impersonator. “Obama” had the guests laughing historically. It was the most original form of entertainment that we have ever seen at a wedding. As you can see, this wedding will not be forgotten. Every detail was amazing and most importantly memorable. Kudos to all the amazing vendors especially… Jennifer J Events who perfectly orchestrated this platinum wedding. XO

{Gia} Vero Beach Teen Photography | Swamp Beauty

Gia is truly brave. She traveled to Vero Beach to visit family, and wanted to take advantage and get a photo shoot done. Now, normally, I say Vero Beach and everyone thinks of… you guessed it. The Beach. Not Gia. She wanted something different, something she can’t just get anywhere. Immediately, I thought of the swamp. Now, I know what you are thinking. Who shoots at the swamp? This girl does! She loved the idea, and honestly, so did I! Blonde, blue eyes, and the swamp… What’s not to love? copyright PS Photography | www.PSphotography.net | Teen Photography | Senior Photography

{Shumeng + Haonan} Day After Session | Miami Wedding Photography + Videography

Categories: Weddings Tags: + + + + + + + + + +

When we were first contacted by Shumeng and Haonan, we immediately were excited because she told us she was from China and that she would love to shoot her couture dress in Vizcaya. We added the idea of video and Shumeng was beyond excited. A Vera Wang gown, a gorgeous location, and an exotic couple.. what more can we ask for? Although the shoot was simple, the drama the couple brought was the perfect touch to this romantic setting. Don’t forget to press play!!

PS introduces our Glam Shoot

We have such an amazing friendship with the vendors we work with, and one of those special vendors we adore is Isa Amazega. Isa is the owner and talent behind Makeup and the City. We recently got together with her for coffee and came up with amazing ideas. One of those amazing ideas was to collaborate on a concept similar to what Glamour Shots did in the 80’s. Although, now we look back at those dramatic black feather boas glamour shots and think “Eek! What were we thinking!) You have to admit the concept was great. As women, we love to be pampered and to feel beautiful; so who wouldn’t want to get glamorized and have professional photographs taken! The idea was to take the glamour shot concept and put a more natural spin on it, no boas and a new name- Glam Shoot! Take a look at the results from this collaboration. We are so proud of the outcome. We love the idea of empowering women and enhancing their beauty. A Glam Shoot is simple and tasteful, its something that every woman should experience. We also were very lucky to have two gorgeous and successful woman as models for the shoot. Both Rosy and Marianne are beautiful inside and out. They both are successful business women who do it all and do it well. Isa did makeup and hair for these two ladies, creating different looks that were equally beautiful. I also love that Rosy and Marianne chose clothing that made the photographs perfect for use as headshots for their profession if needed. Overall, we love Glam Shoots and can’t wait to do it again!!!!

I have to admit, I felt kinda guilty. Every year, I take pictures for our holiday cards. Every single year. Except this one. And, truth be told, we were so busy that I barely had time to shop for Christmas and pack for our 10 day road trip to the West Virginia mountains to ski and play in the snow. So, before I knew it, I didn’t have holiday cards. And, I was so bummed. So, on our trip, I decided I was going to photograph my bunch if it was the last thing I did. And, it literally was the last thing I did on the trip! On our way home, we stopped in Charleston, South Carolina for the day. So I jumped at the chance to find a good spot for pictures. And, Battery Park was the perfect backdrop! The large trees and gorgeous scenery was truly breathtaking. And, being the little models, my kids allowed me to photograph them in their true form. I got smiles, grins, giggles and even some sassy attitude. So, now, I don’t feel guilty. I feel it was fate. Xoxo-Susie
