Rene and Alexandra are world-travelers who decided to get married in Miami, Fl. Alex’s dad mentioned “No one ever has a bad time in Florida!” We agree. They both live in Canada, so the August heat was something they definitely weren’t used to. Although they were feeling the heat, we were able to get some cool, very Miami, tropical portraits of them. One of the most beautiful things about their wedding day was the summer rain in the far distance during their ceremony. A sunny day is always beautiful, but how great is it to get a different backdrop on your wedding day?! And in true Miami fashion, with a gloomy day, came a gorgeous sunset. Rene and Alex’s wedding took place on the rooftop of the Shore Club Hotel. With the cityscape as a backdrop we were able to get some portraits that are to die for. Not to mention the amount of fun they were having when the lights went down and they were on top of this amazing city, dancing the night away.

The rain in Miami is always soooo unpredictable, but when you’re on a time crunch.. the show must go on! At least that’s what Jessica and Steven said. I admit I kinda tried to talk them out of it, but Jessica and Steven’s wedding is fast approaching and with a house move and the wedding planning… it was now or never. I will tell you that we quickly realized how easy going and stress free Jessica is. Not only was she perfectly alright doing her engagement session in the rain, but she also walked from her apartment to the location, which meant wet hair, but a little rain never hurt nobody, right? Miami does have an array of outside locations for photo shoots, but when you are desperate for an inside spot there are practically no options. I knew that Jessica has connections, being that she is in the wedding industry, so I suggested the PAMM (Perez Art Museum Miami). Sure enough she was close enough with someone that we even had the whole place to ourselves! We were granted a special visit to the museum. I was pumped with the idea, but bummed when they restricted us from photographing the art. We totally made the best of it and found some interesting and hidden spots around the museum. We love a challenge! XO

All aboard… This styled shoot we did for Logan was perfect. The shoot lasted 30 minutes, the quickest shoot ever. From the minute he saw the trains, he was smiling. We have photographed Logan for his newborn and 4 month shoot, but this railroad shoot brought out a personality in him that I hadn’t captured before. Logan’s awesome smile plus the suspenders made me love all the pictures. I can’t wait for his next shoot! XO

Although we love shooting the typical Miami wedding with 200 or more guests, every once in awhile it is such a breath of fresh air to photograph a small intimate wedding. Laura and Robert’s wedding was just that… small and intimate. Their wedding was in Vero Beach and included 50 close family and friends. The groom is in the Navy, and included his uniformed marine buddies, which made their wedding day extra special. There was lemonade and iced tea stand waiting for guests as they entered into the dinner, such a cute touch. We also loved the lime green color that was seen in the bridesmaid dresses and again seen at the dinner tables. The wedding had no fuss, just simple and sweet.

This little cowgirl steals my heart every time I photograph her. I seriously had a smile on my face the entire shoot. Erin not only is as cute as it gets, but she also is a clown. She has a personality that can entertain a whole crowd. One of my favorite pictures is the one of Erin with her goofy face. I said “cheese!” and she turned and gave me that funny face. This shoot was full of laughter & goofy smiles that sums up Erin’s unique and perfect personality. I have photographed her since she was a newborn, so you can say she is a “PS kid.” This is shoot number seven, and it just keeps getting better each time. I adore her, and I think after seeing these photographs you can see why. XO

When we met with Priscilla she had so many ideas! Some big, some small— but she knew exactly what she wanted… she even came with Pinterest boards and images to show us exactly what she envisioned (which is usually our job, but we love when our clients come already prepared!). Priscilla has a great mix of edgy and sweetness in her personality, so she wanted to show this off in all her looks. Her mom is a cake designer, so for her 15s dress, she wanted to feature one of her mom’s gorgeous cakes! We did this at one of our favorite secret spots (The Vine Wall, as we call it), this time changing it up to give it an edgy vibe with dramatic lighting. Our next stop was Coconut Grove for some ice cream and velvet red couches. She showed us her fun/sweet side with the ice cream, but the second she got on the red couch, Priscilla worked the camera! One of Priscilla’s big ideas was to have a carpenter make a floating plank on the ocean water with her own whimsical tent scene on top. We had 6 people helping us while Priscilla was in the middle of the water! We’re lucky she’s small and was able to balance on the plank without falling.. She still had one more look, so getting her hair wet was a no-no. For Priscilla’s last look, we began shooting at dusk. She wanted candles all over the floor of the woods + lights surrounding her for a dramatic feel. Although mosquitos were attacking, Priscilla still owned the last look. We were able to create magic in just 30 minutes. This was such a great shoot. There was so much effort and thought put into every look. We love when our clients come with a challenge. XO
