This little guy is cute, but put a bow tie on and ooooooh is he the cutest! I didn’t even let CJ’s mom and dad change his outfit, the bow tie was just too perfect! We didn’t get lucky with the weather on this particular day and so in the studio we went. I do love how we are able to stay dry in the studio but I love even more how we were able to capture some natural and sweet moments! Who says studio pictures have to be stuffy and boring….here it is a studio shoot with a PS twist.

After weeks of planning Joanna + Jimmy’s engagement session, Mother Nature threw a curve ball… They were driving into Miami from Naples just for this session, and when we got closer, the forecast was anything but cooperative. So, we did what we do! We improvised, and quite honestly, sometimes plan b’s are much better than the original plans! And, this is totally the case with Joanna + Jimmy. They literally jumped in my car, and we drove around finding amazing spots to shoot, and I couldn’t be any happier with the final outcome. I can honestly and whole heartedly say I am sooooo happy it rained! Can’t wait for their Naples nuptials in a few months!
I am always taken aback by the beauty of Vero Beach. And, as we walked up to Quail Valley with our equipment in tow, I am reminded of this by the ocean breeze, the warm temperature, and the beautiful sceneries… Jocelyn’s room was quiet, as the anticipation grows. She’s marrying her best friend and her rock. They have both been through so much together, and it has made their bond that much stronger. But, as she puts her dress on and slips on her shoes, there is a peace about her. She actually can’t wait to say I do… The rest of the day was a dream of love, emotions and laughter. At the beginning of Parker’s Communion shoot, I asked him “What do you love to do?” Of course, I got back a blank stare from him. “Do you love sports, art…?” And, in unison Parker and his mom replied, “All of it!” Parker seems to be a well rounded boy who loves everything (especially Legos!) As the shoot got going, and I tried getting Parker to loosen up and relax for me, but not until I started talking about farts (yes, you read that right) did the real Parker come out! Oh, boys, what can you do! LOL. So, here is Parker looking in his dapper communion suit.
When we began this company in 2006 and started to market ourselves towards weddings, it was tough. At the time, we were so eager to get noticed and to be respected. Maggie (aka Magda of Inspired Events) automatically opened her arms to us. It may sound silly or clichè, but at the time that’s what it felt like, one giant hug; and oh did it feel good. LOL. It was just what we needed to push our company into high gear. Shortly after, we had several other wedding coordinators recommending our company. Maggie saw the potential we had and her open arm acceptance will never be forgotten. Seven years later, we still keep in touch and it was great to have the opportunity to photograph her. I wanted to showcase all the sides Maggie has. She is brilliant and powerful business women but she is also sweet and down to earth. Here are her professional head shots, I hope that I was able to capture all the wonderful things that make up Maggie and her company!
Communion photographs are expected by most to be very traditional and classic and… well boring. I am not one to take away a tradition, actually traditions are important to me, but my creative side can’t bare to take a boring photo LOL. So my mission is to create photographs that encompass a Catholic tradition but with a creative twist. I think I accomplished all these things with Dorian’s Communion Portraits. I really enjoy photographing this age group and it’s so sad to say it hardly ever happens. As a mom and a photographer, I am all about preserving memories. I look back at my own photographs as a child and I think I can count on my hands how many photographs I have of myself when I was 7-8 years old, I am aware I am not the only one with these forgotten years. Well, I am happy for communions since it forces some parents to capture their child at such a great age.
