From the look of these images you would think this was a photo shoot that took weeks to prepare, but it didn’t quite work out like that. We did indeed start the planning of Melissa and Jorge’s Engagement session months ago, but it unexpectantly morphed into a different session than what we had expected. The reason for this change of plans was the dilemma of finding the wardrobe. This couple is as busy as they come, with demanding jobs Melissa couldn’t seem to dedicate the time and energy into finding clothes for the shoot. So, we recommended using a fashion stylist to help. Melissa visited Hot Pink Styling a week before her scheduled shoot and fell in love with the choices she was given. Melissa and Hot Pink were doing a fashion show and texting me pics, when I saw the gold dress I automatically had a vision and concept. The second outfit was harder to decide on. When I spoke to Melissa the next day she had chosen a black short feathered dress. We both started shooting ideas at each other and Voila… NYC meets Miami downtown it was. We had a rain scare, a mosquito gang attacking the stylist, a running marathon in downtown and a taxi driver confrontation; but at the end… I can call this shoot absolutely perfect.

Gabi came to meet with us for the first time knowing almost exactly what she wanted. All she needed was a few suggestions here and there to help her different sets come together. Gabi really wanted to showcase her sweet side for her Quince dress. We decided on an all white room at Little River Studios with all pink accents. The couch we rented from Mi Vintage was pink, her shoes were pink, her lips were pink, and we had pink (and white) balloons.. Can you tell she LOVES pink?! So we created this “Pretty in Pink” look to show her softer side. Gabi then wanted a fun and fresh look… and there’s nothing like a hot summer day on the streets of Miami Beach! We through a bike into the mix and were able to capture her fun/kiddish side. For her last look, Gabi wanted to be in “just my bikini!” to show off her daring side. She pulled the look off well! XO

Sometimes being casual is just your style.. It sure fits Adriana and Arne. They decided they wanted a relaxing vibe for their engagement session, to really show off how natural their love for each other is. There’s a calming sense about Arne that really shows how caring he is with Adriana. There were sooo many mosquitos biting us and Arne’s immediate instinct was to help Adriana forget about the bugs and just focus on him! We love how they interacted. All we needed to do was add a gorgeous sunset background and the results were beautiful, natural, and exactly what Adriana and Arne wanted! Enjoy!

This little burst of sunshine stole our heart. This isn’t the first time we photographed baby Adelyn, her newborn photographs were full of sweetness. It’s been 4 months since we saw Adelyn last, and geesh she is just full of smiles and smirks. She had us awwwwing and ooooohing the entire photo shoot. Her baby blue eyes along with her grasping her little toes melted our hearts. We were so pleased with the photographs that we didn’t let Adelyn and Mommy leave without planning the next photo shoot! We came up with some amazing ideas for Adelyn’s 9 month photo shoot… I can’t wait to photograph her again! Until then we will be shopping for some cute shades and a bikini! XO

As I took these photographs of my son, Evan, I felt I was capturing my sweet little boy being just that– a little boy. However, my reaction once the images were up on the screen was horror… who is this big boy and what happened to my baby?!?! I could not believe what I was seeing. I knew he was getting taller, but he’s changed. He is a confident and independent BIG boy. These last 3-4 months I must have been in denial. I think back and Evan really has made some big changes. He has his big boy bed, potty training (still working on it, can’t wait till it’s over), his taste in food has expanded (hot dogs and meatballs are his recent favorites), his speech and vocabulary have gotten so much better, and he now loves playing with the iPad. One thing that hasn’t changed about Evan is his love for action. His new superman bear gave me the inspiration for this shoot. Yesterday was a perfectly cloudy day in Miami, perfect for some easy, no fuss pictures. Evan loves pretending to be a super hero with super powers, so naturally I was equipped with lots of props from home. I even added Penny, our family dog, and his not-so partner in crime (they have a love/hate relationship) into the mix, because every superhero needs a sidekick! But, in all I wanted to show off Evan’s fun, super imaginative personality. I’m always so grateful to have the energy and creativity to have a shoot of my own family. It’s so easy to do it for my clients, but for some reason hard to do it for myself, so I’m extra grateful for these photographs. I have learned two important things from this shoot– do not cut Evans curls (it’s the one thing that keeps my baby a baby) + keep taking photographs of my own kids because they will grow waaaaay sooner than I would like! XO Patty

The vision for this engagement shoot was inspired by the hit television series Downton Abbey. I must admit I hadn’t watched an episode of Downton Abbey until Jeanette decided to style her engagement shoot around the show. After seeing an episode I can see how Jeanette fell in love with this historical period in time. The show is based in Britain during the time of the sinking of the Titanic and World War I. Woman during this time period stopped using corsets and the style seemed to be more loose but of course elegant. Needless to say I wasn’t sure how Jeanette would be able to find a vintage dress to reflect this period of time but she did. She managed to find a gorgeous beaded gown and beautiful vintage inspired accessories to match. As you will see a lot of effort and thought went into this shoot. After months of pinning and texts and phone calls with Jeanette I was thrilled that the day was finally here, I couldn’t wait to see the outcome. I was relieved and excited after the set was finished… the books were stacked and the grapes were laid on the silver tray. Once I had the couple sit on the couch and got behind the camera, I realized that this was going to be one of my favorite engagement shoots to date. It seemed that the couple even matched the set. These two old souls are hopeless romantics. They belonged on this set and in the wardrobe, which is what makes these images more exciting to skim through. I am so impressed with how it all turned out and feel lucky that I was able to be a part of this photo shoot. XO

Gabi had pretty strict directions when it came to her shoot, no tackiness and no traditional portraits. We aim to please and styled four unique and cool shoots that did not have one ounce of traditional or tackiness. Each photo shoot concept showed off Gabi in a different light. We got Gabi looking romantically sweet, edgy, fun, and in one with nature. They all were so fun to shoot. We had an amazing team as always, makeup and hair design by Isa (Makeup and the City) and stylists Jenna and Amanda (Hot Pink Styling) were on set. The energy is always great amongst us girls and even a mosquito infested forest couldn’t stop us from smiling and producing some magic! The outcome of the shoot was super cool photographs to show off this teens über cool personality… and a few hundred mosquito bites. XO

Opposites seem to attract, at least it seems that way with Laura and Carlos. Their choice in shoes couldn’t prove this point any better… Carlos chose vintage Jordan’s and Laura chose classic Badgely Mischka heels. Much difference is seen between these two at first glance, but the more time spent with them the more we realize that they compliment each other very well. A good example is a toast that Carlos gave… He wittily mentioned that Laura doesn’t like public speaking “I will take one for the team!” The guests laughed and Laura blushed at the statement and nodded her head as though it was true. The ceremony took place at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Miami Beach. This is definitely one of our favorite churches in South Florida. We experimented a bit and found some new favorite spots in the church. The architecture and stain glass windows make this church stand out. Laura and Carlos hosted a reception for their guests at the Westin Colonnade. The room was filled with amber lighting and delicate flowers. One unexpected surprise at the reception were the masks handed out during the Hora Loca. Besides the traditional colorful feather masks, they also handed out comic inspired masks. Spiderman, Batman, and their friends were dancing the night away… a definite first for us!
It's all in the details...

We recently were reminded that we didn’t have a chance to blog this beautiful wedding we photographed a few months ago. I don’t know why this surprised me, it just seems that it’s getting harder and harder to stay up to date with our blog. Although long over due, here is the wedding of Galit and Jason. We were so excited for this wedding. If you have seen their images from the their engagement session you will know why.<CLICK HERE to see those amazing pictures!) This couple is gorgeous and they act like cute little love birds. The natural smiles and giggles came out so easily and we had a blast shooting them. The day of their wedding was no different. The vibes in the getting ready rooms were chill, but yet fun. The ceremony was moving, thanks to the Kantor who sung like an angel. The ambience of the ceremony also added to the warm and romantic mood that we felt. Candles and the amber lighting made the photographs look dramatic and unique. The reception had a different feel altogether. The ballroom was colored in purple lighting and the tables were dressed in shades of white and beige. The modern reception was a drastic difference from the ceremony, which made for a good variety of pictures. The party started with a quickness and seemed to just escalate as the night went on. Especially when the band brought out live Salsa dancers! We departed a little after 2am just as the shots were starting to be poured on the dance floor.
