I can’t take too much credit for this photo shoot. I am usually full of ideas and a bit nosey with my clients during the planning stages of a shoot. I always give suggestions on outfits, locations and props, however Katie had ideas of her own. She had Allie’s outfit ordered and since Allie loves her sweets she knew she wanted a cake smash. Outfit check, props check, what about location? Katie had an idea for location too, sunflower field. Geesh a sunflower field sounds more than perfect but how am I ever going to find one? Turns out the stars were aligned and I found a field of sunflowers. Katie said this shoot is so Allie, because she is full love, color, and sunshine. She was right, Allie was so happy and full of energy.

How do I start to describe Jessica and Steven’s wedding?! There is so much to love about this day. Let me first tell you that Jessica’s cool and calm demeanor was refreshing. We never know what to expect when we first open the doors to the bridal room. Many times we walk into chaos, as you can imagine. Steven’s room was no different with laughs and drinks filling the room. The getting ready portion of a wedding day is so important, although, some clients opt out of having us there. It really is a great opportunity to take intimate and candid photographs. Some of my favorite pictures from this day was of Jessica’s dad seeing her for the first time… we totally got chocked up. Moments like these are little surprises that as photographers we are so happy to be able to capture. Being that Jessica is in the wedding industry, we had a hunch that the decor at the Bath Club would be out of this world. We were right! The ceremony, reception and cocktail hour decor gave off a romantic and vintage feel. I adored the unique little touches, like the unexpected felt bird hanging out on a twig, or the cute little phrase on a pillow at the cocktail hour. They even had a sign in area that consisted of guests signing a globe. Like I said, I can go on and on about the details. We felt like ninjas with cameras trying to capture every linen, table, chair, flower, everything. What I think was most impressive was the distressed wood wall that was designed by Jessica herself. The wood walls were found on each end of the ballroom, one behind the sweet heart table and the other behind the DJ booth. This specific piece not only enhanced the room and showed off this grand ballroom, but it also had shelving that allowed for more florals; you must scroll down and see for yourself. The dinner had an intimate feel, although it was a large wedding, the lighting added the perfect touch. The night ended with a huge surprise! Before I say the surprise let me first tell you that Jessica and Steven are die hard Miami Heat fans, so much that we even included the Miami Airlines Arena in the engagement session. Jessica, being the coolest wife ever, arranged for Burnie (the Miami Heat mascot) to surprise Steven. Picture this… Steven and Jessica dancing, when all of the sudden the DJ changes the music and raises the volume, and with an arena voice the DJ announces everyone to look at the stage. Burnie jumps off the stage, darts towards the couple, tosses Steven over his back, and simultaneously confetti guns launched thousands of paper confetti onto the dance floor. It was such a fantastic feeling being on the dance floor, the energy was contagious. It was epic!

Melissa and Cesar wanted a unique maternity session. This couple didn’t have the opportunity to do an engagement session, so they wanted to go all out for their baby bump. Melissa shopped and shopped until she found the most perfect dress. Lucky for us, we chose the most perfect day, too. Fairchild Tropical Gardens is truly an oasis, so much lush landscape to work with; so much of it that it’s impossible to visit and photograph each section of the gardens in one day. I took the couple to some of my favorite spots and one newly discovered spot, the lilly pond, the trellace, the caucus garden and last but not least the butterfly garden. It was my first time visiting the butterfly garden, and I was in heaven. It was the perfect ending to our shoot. Although I have photographed at fairchild a number of times, it has been over a year since the last time. Melissa and Cesar made me fall in love with it all over again. I can’t wait to shoot there again.

Sadly, summer is over. But, it’s still steaming hot, so let’s pretend we’re still in bathing suit season! This teen, Isa, pulled off this fun, summer glam look so well! With a little help from the inspiration gods (Pinterest), we were able to come up with a cool/different concept for Isa. This shows off so much personality! We love nothing more than a teen who is ready to be cute and bubbly (with a little sass). Who says you can’t be glamorous in a bathing suit? Props were a must. We came up with the idea of having lots of jewelry, a flamingo, a coke bottle, and the cool “All about the Benjamins” money towel. So cute! We worked along side “The Glaminator” herself, Isa Amezaga, from Makeup and the City . We had such a blast! Can’t wait for our next shoot filled with personality and fun.

Parker is two! And, what do most 2 year olds love to do? Run around, play, get dirty… And, Parker is no exception. His personality is fun, energetic, and lovable. I could not get enough of him! Hope you enjoy the images as much as I loved running around getting them!

Adriana and I have worked together on projects, and we seem to always be on the same page with ideas and thoughts. So when she delivered her new baby boy and planned his newborn shoot it was a sinch. The phone call was brief, “lets do a airy and simple look”, “no hats, no fuss, just him”….”ok great see you on Wednesday”. Seriously love when me and my clients are on the same wave length. Gabriel behaved like an angel, he was awake for a few shots and with one bottle he passed out. I can’t seem to pick a favorite.

This little guy seems to get cuter and cuter each time we meet. The last time we got to photograph Quentin, it was just 3 months ago and already he looks different. For one, he sits up independently and is even starting to get comfy on all fours. Lucky for us this shoot was no different than the last, he was full of beautiful smiles. Every shoot has been adorable and we can’t wait to start planning the next one!

Rene and Alexandra are world-travelers who decided to get married in Miami, Fl. Alex’s dad mentioned “No one ever has a bad time in Florida!” We agree. They both live in Canada, so the August heat was something they definitely weren’t used to. Although they were feeling the heat, we were able to get some cool, very Miami, tropical portraits of them. One of the most beautiful things about their wedding day was the summer rain in the far distance during their ceremony. A sunny day is always beautiful, but how great is it to get a different backdrop on your wedding day?! And in true Miami fashion, with a gloomy day, came a gorgeous sunset. Rene and Alex’s wedding took place on the rooftop of the Shore Club Hotel. With the cityscape as a backdrop we were able to get some portraits that are to die for. Not to mention the amount of fun they were having when the lights went down and they were on top of this amazing city, dancing the night away.
Press play and enjoy! Or scroll through! xoxo.

The rain in Miami is always soooo unpredictable, but when you’re on a time crunch.. the show must go on! At least that’s what Jessica and Steven said. I admit I kinda tried to talk them out of it, but Jessica and Steven’s wedding is fast approaching and with a house move and the wedding planning… it was now or never. I will tell you that we quickly realized how easy going and stress free Jessica is. Not only was she perfectly alright doing her engagement session in the rain, but she also walked from her apartment to the location, which meant wet hair, but a little rain never hurt nobody, right? Miami does have an array of outside locations for photo shoots, but when you are desperate for an inside spot there are practically no options. I knew that Jessica has connections, being that she is in the wedding industry, so I suggested the PAMM (Perez Art Museum Miami). Sure enough she was close enough with someone that we even had the whole place to ourselves! We were granted a special visit to the museum. I was pumped with the idea, but bummed when they restricted us from photographing the art. We totally made the best of it and found some interesting and hidden spots around the museum. We love a challenge! XO
