So this was a first for PS! This couple got engaged, took pictures with PS, then came back for round two a year later! (CLICK HERE to view their first ultra sexy session) So this time around, Mike and Tina wanted something a bit softer with a vintage twist. Sooooo, we brainstormed a bit and after shooting around some location ideas, the final choice was the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Tina’s lace dress and the Spanish tile of the Biltmore complimented each other so well, that after the first five minutes of the session I just knew we chose the right spot. I then took the couple to another one of PS’s favorite spot that has a blue wood door that I adore. And at this point we had already shot a good hours worth of amazing stuff, but between the blue tile and iron work at the Biltmore and the blue secret garden door I was inspired to visit a vintage blue car. Now, I have to admit, as we walked up to the car Tina and Mike had their doubts and I think Tina might have even said “I don’t know about this. Maybe we can skip this spot,” but I had my mind set. I begged them to give me a chance and take just one photograph and if they still wanted to move on, then we would. Well, needless to say, my photographer instincts were right and they loved the photo on the back of my camera. These pictures ended being their favorites. So much so, that they chose one of these images as a 20×30 photograph mounted on our Stand Out Framing, and they plan on displaying it at their wedding reception. It just goes to show you, trust the photographer, you hired them for a reason, let them do what they do best! Tina and Mike, thanks for following along with the idea and giving it a chance!

Sindhu + Corey are truly such an adorable couple. You should see how Corey gazes at Sindhu, like if she is a rare jewel that he happened to find. But, in all actuality, they are both rare. So amazing to work with, and the energy you get from being around them is calm, serene, and just full of true love. And, it’s so obvious when you look at these pictures. Even their surroundings match their personality.
Vizcaya is gorgeous. Between the historic Vizcaya house, the water, the gardens, and the couple I was inspired beyond words. Maybe some of you have seen Vizcaya thru a traditional photographer, but here is Vizcaya, Sindhu + Corey through PS Photography’s eye.

Maritza and Kevin wanted a very unique session that played on their personalities and love. After talking a bit about locations, style, etc, we decided on a vintage train scene. And, when she showed up with her amazing era-appropriate attire, my jaw dropped. She looked just breathtaking. And, Kevin in his 3 piece suit and fedora… pure perfection! I absolutely can’t stop staring at these images, almost like if I went back in time… Can’t wait for their wedding!

Justine + Matt were destined to be together.  I know it sounds kinda cheesy, but it’s true.  They were both visiting family in Phili, eating at a restaurant when their eyes locked, and the rest is history!  And, 1 year later, they were engaged!  They chose McKee Gardens for their engagement session because they often visit gardens together, and it was a perfect backdrop for them!  Don’t you just love it?

Location choice was a hard decision for this couple.  They were between Fairchild Tropical Gardens, Coral Gables, Key Biscayne and Best Buy.  No, Best Buy is not a typo…  The couple has a big history with Best Buy.  D has worked with them for years, and that’s where they met!  But, in the end, Coral Gables and Key Biscayne won!  We could not just pick one spot in Coral Gables, so we literally drove around, parked, got out, took pics, then got back in the car drove around, got out, took pics…and so on.  We were on a hunt for doors!  L is obsessed with doors; especially rustic ones. And, Coral Gables has a lot of doors!  They also decided to add Key Biscayne to their engagement session because they love the water and nature.  Key Biscayne has a beach that is quite romantic and full of trees and rocks which was a perfect fit for what the couple was looking for.  It was a fun day hunting for doors and running in the beach!  Can’t wait for their wedding! 2 days and counting…

This engagement session location was in Key Biscayne.  What I love about this location is that it allows room for variety.  The beach I took them to is one of my absolute favorite spots.  Being in Miami, of course, the water is an obvious backdrop for our shoots.  But this beach is not your typical “beautiful” Miami beach; it has a dramatic feel to it.  I love that we are able to get the sand and beach look but then move a bit and get branches and rocks protruding from the water.  Not to mention the beautiful trees that canopy the shore line.  And to change it up, we hopped in the car and drove to the Downtown Miami City views, which is so opposite and is why I love this session soooooo much.  This couple also was game to do something a little different for their engagement session front cover, a “PS First” and I can’t wait to show it off…stay tuned!

One word to sum up this engagement session is variety!  As you can imagine walking down Lincoln Road in South Beach you stumble into a lot of interesting spots!  This couple was so confident and natural in front of the camera.  Marcelo has a way of bringing out the best in Jezabel.  With the simplest stare he would make her blush or smile, it was great to capture.  After photographing this couple I am even more anxious for their wedding day!

I was so inspired during this session!  It seemed like everything fell into place.  For example, we showed up to Jimbo’s and there was a broken down, abandoned, but beautiful piano; well it just so happens that Rob plays the piano!  So naturally we went crazy with the piano trying different poses and I even made sure to get a ring shot with the broken keys as a background.  We then left Jimbo’s and went to the beach where it was extreme low tide and oh the sunset!  The sunset felt like it was playing tricks on me and I looooved it!  I was able to get some really creative and artistic shots using the sun’s light in different ways.  These for sure are my favs!

This couple is toooo cute!  I loved having the chance to get to know them more during their engagement session.  We had so much fun shooting the session!  I also love how everything seemed to fall in place when planning the session.  The location was Fairchild Tropical Gardens and the them was vintage romance, which I have to say Hilary pulled off so well.  When she arrived to the location with her anthropologie dress I just knew the session was going total inspiration.  She then opened up her bag which had chocolates, soda pop, old school camera and wild flowers; I just kept thinking to myself “yay she totally got the idea and went all the way with it”.  I adore these photographs and I absolutely adore this couple!

“I’m so nervous!” was Brenda’s first words to me.  But, you couldn’t tell from the looks of these pictures!  Her and Gianni have an amazing chemistry, and they are so cute together!   Usually, it takes the couple a few shots (pictures! not liquor people!  Lol.  But, sometimes, it may be needed.)  But, one of the first pictures I shot is going to be the cover of their guest sign in book at their wedding later this month.  That’s how not nervous they looked.  We actually were crazy enough to try downtown Miami for this shoot, during Art Basel!  But, I am so glad we did!  We were able to shoot in front of a graffiti wall that was just finished by an amazing artist, and we even got to go into an art gallery to shoot!  What luck I tell you.  All in all, I cannot wait for their wedding!  It’s going to be FAB!
