Its pretty exciting when you have a vision for a shoot and to see it unfold to be better than you expected. That’s what happened with Victoria. My vision was simple, but sometimes simple needs a lot of effort to pull it off. The idea was a wooden swing overlooking a deserted beach. In order to pull this off we first needed a wooden swing, luckily Victoria has a handy dad. –CHECK. Next, deserted beach. Luckily, we have plenty of beaches. –CHECK. Last, but not least, we needed a beautiful dress that was simple, elegant, flowy, organic, and trendy. Luckily, Victoria has good taste. –CHECK. CHECK, CHECK, CHECK and voila, the vision is complete! Plus, a few other outfit changes that are different and gorgeous!PS Photography | www.PSphotography.net

The words “Styled Shoot” I am sure you have noticed have been popping up lately on our blog and social media pages, well it’s because we are just so excited about this concept! If you haven’t been stalking us and have no idea what a styled shoot is then shame shame on you! Let us fill you in. A styled shoot is a PS shoot but with a lot more thought and magic put into the planning of it. The number one word that we here come out of our clients mouth is “unique”, I want something unique for the shoot. Well to make a shoot unique sometimes takes more than just a unique location and unique posing. We found that although most of our clients wanted something unique they came to the set (aka shoot) with a normal standard look, makeup, hair and outfit; although nice, it didn’t show unique. We came up with the idea of a Styled Shoot. What if we directly worked with the client to come up with a theme or concept of the shoot and then actually helped choose their wardrobe, hair, makeup, accessories. Then we pushed it even more and thought what if we made a “set” for the shoot, like a Broadway show would have a set. The idea was genius (if I don’t say so myself). Melissa’s Styled Shoot was the first of many to come. We have been dying to share these photographs but had to resist until after her birthday bash. Melissa’s Quince party was a carnival theme so when we met for our preliminary consultation it was a simple decision on what the shoot concept and theme was going to be. We then shared ideas with Melissa via Pinterest (check out our Pinterest boards). We quickly agreed with the look and feel of the shoot and began researching on locations, wardrobe and props. As you can see, a lot of work was put into this shoot. Not only did we put a lot of time and effort but the client went all out on finding the outfits and purchasing the props. We had complete trust with our client and she really did go above and beyond to make our combined vision come true. Our Styled Shoots are perfect for the client that truly is looking for something unique and that is willing to go above and beyond to really make their photographs one of a kind. Keep an eye out for more of our Styled Shoots coming soon.copyright | PS Photography | www.PSphotography.net

Lots of senior twins this year! Here is another pair that were so much fun to photograph. The ocean was definitely their favorite spot, and the waves were crashing against the shore, which made for some amazing backgrounds!

Colton + Trey’s senior session began with a torrential downpour. We had to reschedule a few times because of the weather, but Mother Nature wanted to put on a show for us anyways! Our first session (yes, I said first! The rain made us shoot a second day!) had the moodiest clouds behind them. The jeeps are important to the twins, so we made sure to incorporate them into their session. And, honestly, it’s one of my favorite images! These lacrosse players were completely comfortable in front of the camera. And, the tumultuous waves behind them at the beach made for an absolutely breathtaking backdrop…

Sadhana was up for anything!  We did the safe shots first, then she couldn’t resist the beach.  If you have never been to Vero Beach, it’s absolutely beautiful.  The sand is soft and the water inviting.  And, it was the perfect backdrop for Sadhana’s senior pictures!  Don’t you think?

So this was a shoot full of surprises, a few hiccups and a whole lot of fun!!!  Lenora is such a doll!  She has a natural beauty about her and it took all two minutes for her personality to shine. Beautiful inside and out, recipe for awesomeness! Always from the very first click, I begin to work up my subject’s confidence, I want them to feel beautiful.  I love the moment that a client can stop over analyzing  my direction and just let their guard down.  I can now capture THEM!   With Lenora, it just got better and better.  She was a complete natural in front of the camera.  I seriously had a hard time putting down my camera.  Just take a look at a few of my faves from the shoot and surely you will understand.

Recently we have been getting our fair share of teens to photograph and we must admit it’s a nice break from our crazy wedding season which is going on now.  Daniela, like most teens, wanted something “different”.  We spend a lot of time and effort styling each shoot we do, but Daniela had her shoot all planned.  She wanted something natural and something that reflected her personality.  She did not want crazy cool background, she did not want props, she did not want a fancy outfit….she wanted to show off her real self without all the makeup and all the fufu.  So here is Daniela….

Leyla is a free spirit. Her smile can light up a room. And, her pictures completely portrayed that. I especially love the last image, it’s totally her.
