Many times I joke around with the grooms, “You know, you are just an accessory today.” And, for the most part, it is kinda true. But, ladies, you can’t forget to give your grooms accessories! It’ll only make you look good. From cufflinks to watches, wedding day gifts can mean so much. Amanda gave Mark cufflinks inscribed with the exact longitude and latitude of their first kiss. And, Sam gave Jordan a watch with an inscription that only they know the meaning of. It’s a way of telling them you love them, and also making sure they look pretty spiffy.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you look at a couple and know they are in love. But, with Sam + Jordan, it is more than just in-love. They are soul mates, in every sense… It’s as if they just look at each other, and they know exactly what the other is thinking. And, being part of their Breakers Wedding was just surreal. From the beginning of the day as she is getting her makeup touched up by the window, to the excitement as he is putting on his suit… It was just magical. Maybe that sounds clichè, but the truth is it was. The moment that he laid eyes on his beautiful bride, it was as if nothing else mattered. He only had eyes for his precious Sam. The reception was an amazing event where traditions and dancing were mixed into one party atmosphere. The dance floor was never empty, but full of life, laughter and smiles. The cake cutting at this wedding was much more special than at any other wedding we have ever done. You see, everyone was waiting to see the color of the inside of the cake. They even hired a security guard to make sure no one got a sneak peek of the inside of that cake! Why? Because, Sam + Jordan have a baby bump! As the cake was being cut, the excitement was building as people were screaming out, “Pink! Blue!” Finally, it was revealed… It’s BLUE! Something blue? Yup, it is!

Every wedding is perfect in their own special way. I usually can think back on weddings we photographed 5 years ago and can recollect a moment or even a detail that for one reason or another stood out for me. Amanda and Mark’s wedding was full of these moments and full of these little details. The wedding (although was 200 guests and was at the Four Seasons) had a sense of intimacy. As if it was a small town girl marrying her childhood sweetheart in the backyard of her parents’ home. Not sure if it is making sense but I don’t know how else to explain it. Amanda and Mark are New Yorkers but are so grounded and so organic. Because it was a destination wedding, I only had Skyped and spoken to them on the phone and just by that alone the entire year I was anxious for their wedding. I just loved this couples’ energy and I had a good feeling about them. Well, of course, I was right, as usual! This couple seranaded their guests with a song they sang and the best part is Mark played the ukallayly. I mean seriously you have to be one cool cat to pull this off, and he was, and she was, and it was perfect! Another moment that I will remember happened during the getting ready in Amanda’s room. She had been cool and collected the whole day until she sat in a room by herself and started to read the card Mark had written to her. After two sentences there were sniffles and then came tears and then giggles and mid way into the card there were sniffles, tears, and giggles. She had such a hard time reading the whole card and the emotion that came out of her was so raw and so so so sweet. I have photographed many weddings but have never seen so much honest and real love displayed before this moment. And as it was happening and I was photographing, the videographer was rolling, and I thought to myself… moments like this are so precious and thank god she was smart enough to hire a photographer and videographer! So, like I mentioned I can probably go on and on about this wedding but I think I’ll shut up now and let the pictures do the talking!
Erica + Eric have been such a special couple to PS. We met them over 3 years ago, and they decided then that we would photograph their wedding. At that time, it felt like their wedding was sooooo far away, and here we are. I can honestly say that Erica + Eric were so happy to get married. They planned it for years, and when the day finally arrived they could barely contain their excitement! From start to finish, their faces lit up every time they were together, and it was so contagious that you had to smile. (more…)
Carmen + Danny are a couple to remember. From the look in each other’s eyes while exchanging their vows to the laughs they shared during the first dance, you can tell this couple is genuinely in love. We really enjoyed how much fun they were having. While the groom was getting ready, they produced a “Harlem Shake” video! And the fun carried over into the reception, where the dance floor was always packed. A beautiful moment to remember was when one of the best men gave his speech and said that Carmen made Danny a better person. True love makes you a better person which is a beautiful thing to witness. Congrats to Danny and Carmen!
Kim + Jack’s wedding was full of love… From their vows, to their first dance, they could not help but look at each other with pure adoration. My favorite part of the whole wedding was when Jack was having his dance with his mom, and his mom went, grabbed Kim and included her in the dance. I could not help but cry behind my camera… What a beautiful moment! Kim + Jack, wishing you a lifetime of wedded bliss!
Gisel + Isaac’s story began when they met online, and it quickly blossomed into a romance that led them to a wedding that brought together family and friends. Their nuptials were sweet and heart felt, you can just tell how much Isaac adores Gisel. And, they danced the night away! Truly a night to remember! Congratulations, Gisel + Isaac!
Charlene and Chris were married on the rooftop of the Viceroy Miami, and the view was beyond gorgeous. The blue skies were the perfect backdrop to their nuptials. Events by Francesca created a romantic feel with the white fabric as it flowed in the wind. The reception was a contrast in purples and whites. And, The Event Factor kept the dance floor bumping all night! What a wedding!
Nicole and Victor chose to make their nuptials a private event at a romantic tropical island…sounds perfect right?!?! When they returned, they wanted to celebrate by doing a photo shoot in their wedding attire and that’s exactly what we did for them. This post wedding shoot was a romantic vintage inspired shoot. What better place than our backyard of Coral Gables to do the shoot. My absolute favorites were taken at the very end of them running in an alley way. Their genuine smiles just make the pictures perfect!
