{Happy Birthday, Victoria} Cake Smash Session | Children Photography

It was Dalia’s idea to do a smash cake session for her daughter’s one year portraits. I must say the idea is always a favorite but I always wonder how the baby will react to frosting. You never know if a child will like cake! I know it sounds funny but I have personal experience that not all kids like cake (my Aiden is one of those kids). So, we did some vintage inspired pictures at the studio to start off and then, LET THERE BE CAKE. We placed the cake in front of Victoria and waited… It only took about two seconds before she placed a cautious finger into the frosting. After that tasty bit, Victoria truly smashed her cake. The studio was full of laughter and lots and lots of frosting. Here is a little taste of the shoot.

Its pretty exciting when you have a vision for a shoot and to see it unfold to be better than you expected. That’s what happened with Victoria. My vision was simple, but sometimes simple needs a lot of effort to pull it off. The idea was a wooden swing overlooking a deserted beach. In order to pull this off we first needed a wooden swing, luckily Victoria has a handy dad. –CHECK. Next, deserted beach. Luckily, we have plenty of beaches. –CHECK. Last, but not least, we needed a beautiful dress that was simple, elegant, flowy, organic, and trendy. Luckily, Victoria has good taste. –CHECK. CHECK, CHECK, CHECK and voila, the vision is complete! Plus, a few other outfit changes that are different and gorgeous!

Lindy + Ira were so much fun! I know it sounds so clichè, but it is so absolutely true! They were silly, loving, and crazy all in one! Their session totally reflected their personality. This past weekend, we had the honor of documenting their wedding in Boca Raton. And, we had just as much fun at their wedding! I can’t tell you how much I love our clients… And, Lindy + Ira are no exception! LOVE THEM!!!

{Orozco Family} Baby Bump Session

Gina and Javier are expecting princess number two. For me, every time I photograph this family I fall more in love with them. It began at their wedding, and now it’s become a yearly tradition to capture their growing family. I love this family for a number of reasons but let me share just one. I love that they are up for anything, go with the flow, and have fun kinda people. So many times I have photographed them and each shoot they show up with smiles, relaxed and the shoot is smooth and flawless. This shoot was a perfect example. I could probably suggest an alley way for a photo shoot and many would run the other direction. Gina and Javier said ok and then once they saw it they didn’t get scared or second guess my vision. Ahhhhhh, love that about them! So i have lost track of how many shoots I have done for them, but lets just say here is the latest shoot of many more to come!

When one of our favorite hotels in Vero Beach asked us to photograph their property for their new website, we were honored! Costa d’Este Beach Resort is a luxury hotel right on the beautiful sands of Vero Beach. With Mother’s Day around the corner, we have been lucky enough to photograph lots of “mommy and me” moments! I can appreciate how important these photographs are for my clients. Being a mother ourselves, we seem to never get enough photographs with our children. For me (and most moms) being a mother has been the best thing to happen in our lives. Our children are our everything and to have photographs that celebrate this amazing relationship is priceless! I was elated with the outcome of Letty and her son Rene’s Mommy and me shoot. The pictures tell the story of a beautiful mother and son relationship.

Trying to come up with a summary of this family shoot I did is a bit harder than I thought, I don’t even know where to begin. I think the photographs pretty much say it all. I would describe this family as urban industrial and definitely trendy. The location was a hard decision for Jill but at the end you chose the most perfect spot. I seriously could not think of a better location, it was perfect. All stars aligned for this shoot. The two boys could be models, especially baby Reid. He stole my heart, not only does he have the baby blues working for him but I have NEVER had a baby smile this much in a shoot. I will go on the record that this baby is the easiest baby I have ever photographed. So as you can see I was definitely spoiled, speaking of spoiled not only did I have Lauren cheerleading the kids to give me smiles but the nanny to these boys was doing leaps and cart wheels (ok, so I may be exaggerating… I didn’t see any cart wheels.) so that I can capture a few dozen amazing pictures. Yes, I can go on and on boasting about this shoot but maybe I should just let the pictures do the talking!!!!!

{Rene} First Holy Communion Photography

It was so great to see an old friend again. Letty and I keep in touch via Facebook but I haven’t seen her in 15 years (since high school)! I also got meet her super handsome boy Rene. We met at the studio and it took me two seconds to get a glimpse of this boy’s adorable personality. When it was time to get him in his suit (purchased and brought all the way from Europe, grandma’s present) he needed no help. He dressed himself with such ease and such maturity. At one point Letty started to help him with his shoes and he quickly took over making sure to use the plastic thingy that you put in the heel of the shoe and it helps you slide the shoe on. I am telling you this boy is going to be a chic magnet. He is so sweet and so GQ, love it! Needless to say Rene was a total ham in front of the camera and I had no problem getting some images that showcased his suave look!
