We felt so privileged to have done this engagement session. When Stephanie and Danny decided to do their engagement session in Havana, Cuba we were over the top excited. We have never been to Cuba and yes that was cool in itself but being that we are Cuban American, it was something we have dreamt of doing. Visiting the country that our parents were born and raised in was a dream come true. Our parents and grandparents have shared stories about their home land with mixed emotions. They told us of happy stories and many sad stories. We left on this trip with excitement but also with uncertainty. The trip to Cuba was everything. We truly came back feeling like we learned more about who we are and where we came from. Two days were spent in Vinales and two days were spent in Havana. There is so much to share about this trip that we plan on creating multiple blog posts. Lets start with PART 1 which is showing off the beautiful couple who flew us to this beautiful country. First photo shoot spot was in Old Havana. The building was similar to other buildings in the area but what made this one special was a grand staircase and a light filled room that was to die for. This location in itself was all we needed to make this Cuba engagement session an incredible shoot. We chose the perfect time of the day to visit this location. The light streamed into the empty room adding streaks of light in all the right spots. And if this was all not enough we were lucky enough to be there while tenants were hanging their laundry to dry. Seriously how does someone get this lucky! Lets also take notice of the architecture, the arches that led to an outside balcony looked like a movie set. We were all in awe of how much beauty lied in this one room, in this one building. This was what dreams were made of and we all felt it. The energy that we all were sharing was so positive. Stephanie and Danny could not help but get inspired as well. These two quickly felt at ease with camera as soon as we started shooting in the building. The brought drama to match the incredible architecture. Danny was such a casanova. He swept Stephanie off her feet a few times, literally speaking. He tangoed and he salsa’ed through some of the shoot making us all remember we were in Havana, Cuba….!Azucaaar!
