From the moment Carolinne put on her dress, we knew it was going to be a good day. We were so lucky to be able to shoot such a beautiful couple. Carolinne and Michael’s wedding ceremony was at the beautiful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. We love when our PS couples give us enough time to shoot a full portrait session the day of their wedding. We were able to walk around Vizcaya with ease before the ceremony began. Michael is part owner at Villa Azur Miami, which is a popular restaurant on Miami Beach. This fab couple decided Villa Azur would be the perfect place for their wedding reception. We loved that Carolinne and Michael had a personal connection to the venue. It was a beautiful setting for their first dance and meal as newlyweds with their closest friends and family.

Where to begin… I hope the photographs do most of the talking, but I will fill in you in on some behind the scenes information. Brooke and Eugene started their day getting ready at the Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove. The location was close to the reception that took place at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. It also made for a beautiful backdrop for all the getting ready images. As we walked into Brooke’s room, we were happy to see a lot of family and friends in her suite. There was champagne flowing, music filling the air, and lots of laughter. Brooke was calm and collected, which was expected (she is the most relaxed and chill bride ever). One of my favorite moments was when Brooke took the time to put makeup on the flower girl… too cute! In the groom’s room, we walked in on Eugene getting a fresh shave by his personal barber. The mood was relaxed and fun. I would say Eugene would agree that a highlight that happened in his getting ready was his present from Brooke. Let’s just say Eugene was blushing, while flipping through Brooke’s boudoir photo album. It was a classic reaction that was funny to witness. Luckily the wedding coordinator, Jennifer Johnson, allotted a large amount of time for us to take photographs of this gorgeous couple. We were lucky enough to have a 15 minute photo shoot at Vizcaya with the bride. The couple agreed to seeing each other before the ceremony, a tradition very common in Jewish religion. We call this a “First Look,” and we had the best backdrop to capture the moment. A full hour was put aside for this and for portraits, needless to say we were like kids in a candy store. Brooke and Eugene are gorgeous, and they are amazing in front of the camera. It was so fun watching and photographing the moments that were exchanged between these two love birds. Eugene has a way of making Brooke feel like a princess. He was so sweet and genuine with her. It was an amazing thing to watch. We had so many amazing portraits, and it was so difficult to narrow down the number for the blog. This is a problem that makes us so happy. The romantic feel transitioned into the ceremony, where the decor lighting was warm and inviting. The pink cherry blossom huppa made the ceremony look like something out of a fairy tale. The decor at the reception was no different. Lighting is so important at an event. It can transform a space, giving it depth and feeling; this wedding was a perfect example of amazing lighting. The dinner area was displayed between a beautiful ocean front and Vizcaya’s main house. The main house was lit with colorful lighting patterns and the stage for the band was built on top of the water… it was just gorgeous! Dinner started with a “smoking” salad that was housed inside a glass encasing. The waiters brought each guest an individual salad and opened the glass encasing to allow the smoke to float out and into the air. Definitely a presentation to remember, and something that is best described in photographs, LOL (scroll down). So many surprises happened throughout the night. The first dance ended with an 8 minute firework presentation… Can you imagine fireworks as you’re sharing your first dance with your Mr. or Mrs.?! There were also two surprise guests that were completely unexpected and may need some explaining. During the cocktail hour, Eugene played a little joke on Brooke (something that Brooke says happens quite often). This time, the joke was in front of 170 family and friends. So, for weeks Eugene has been telling Brooke that he wanted to adopt a Lemur while in Africa, on their honeymoon. He was quite convincing, according to Brooke. He even bought books and printed out research material on owning a Lemur and how to bring it into the country. Fast forward to the wedding day, Eugene wanted to end the joke with a bang and had a Lemur visit the wedding. All of the guests loved petting the Lemur and took photographs with the adorable little creature. The second guest was even more shocking, if you can believe that. No story needed, President Obama was the second guest! Ok fine… not the real Obama, but Reggie Brown an impersonator. “Obama” had the guests laughing historically. It was the most original form of entertainment that we have ever seen at a wedding. As you can see, this wedding will not be forgotten. Every detail was amazing and most importantly memorable. Kudos to all the amazing vendors especially… Jennifer J Events who perfectly orchestrated this platinum wedding. XO
